Denny Divine

Just thought I 'd share just how special Jesus is to Denison. When he saw this picture on the wall at my work, he got so excited and kissed it numerous of times.. I just had to get a shot of it.. I just thought it was so sweet and special. He knows that Jesus is somebody special who deserves lots of kisses even though he has never met him.. Isn't that just Divine!!? I love my lil angel more and more each day...It is great to know that the seeds of love and reecognition of Christ are already starting to harvest inside him..A true Child of God!

Were back!

So unfortunately..we are back from Florida! We had a great time...almost forget we had to come home! Going through the airport was crazy!!!..it was from running late- to returning the rental-rushing through check-in and customs..almost missing our flight-my $18 dollar sulfate-free shampoo getting confiscated..(I was so upset.....sadly Walter had forgotten to pack it in the checked in luggage.. Now some chick is probably using my shampoo...urggh..Darn 9/11 precautions..oh well!!This is this first time traveling as a family..and it was hard.We definitely took note of the do's and don'ts for next time. When we landed it was a quick reality check and a hard pill to swallow... All in all, it was a great flight(Denny's stayed awake this time) and at least we are home safe ...but man getaways are so great! We can't wait to go back again!

Toys R US Kid

"I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys R US kid!" I totally understand why they chose this phrase because it encompasses all of what you feel when you enter this store. Today, Walter and I decided to visit the store to find something for Denny. This was a culminating moment for us as parents and we realized that this would soon be a regular stop for us. I wanted to pick up Denny to carry him with us but based on the advice of my hubby, he thought it would be wiser for us to go without Denny to avoid tantrums and overspending. I was in total agreement because seeing him cry would make us weak and then we would give in...but we don't want to raise him to be a spoiled brat...so we are avoiding certain situations and learning to be firm but still loving. The crazy thing is that I was still weak without him...We were just so fascinated with the huge selection. We even felt like kids again..lol! In my head I was already planning gifts for Christmas, his 2nd birthday, his big boy bedroom and beyond. Walter had to bring me back to earth because I was just so gone. To make this story shorter, we spent about 2 plus hours in there and it was hard to leave but our budget was tight so we knew we had to quit because we had an appointment to catch . So we ended up buying two "Elmo" toys..one was shake up laughing Elmo and the next was a giggle camera. Denny seems like he warming up to the toy but now I'm a bit confused. After reading the reviews on the camera... I'm kind of concerned about whether it was a good choice for our son. The concern basically comes from some of the phrases Elmo says which some say is too "adult" such as..."Give it to Elmo-Ya baby! -Work it baby.. work it!" The kind of things you would hear in an adult photo shoot... When we first heard it..it seemed too cute but now I'm feeling a bit guilty or am I being too uptight? Boy oh boy.. There is so much to worry about...I love parenting but it is tough!

Special Sunday

I just thought I would share a piece of the day with you that stands out in heart. My faith increases more by the minute that convinces me everyday that the Savior Jesus Christ loves us. The gospel is by far the best thing in my my life and it has brought me so much happiness even through trials.

We had the opportunity to attend church today. It was fast and testimony Sunday and the spirit was so present in the room. It was wonderful! Seeing so many seemingly happy families come together has made me feel all fuzzy inside. It is such a wonderful plan that Heavenly Father has for us ..how could we not want to be a part of it because you can't deny what the gospel makes you see and feel.

The special highlights of the day were:

1. Just being alive to spend this Sunday together with my family.

2. Denny made me so happy and proud when we walked in the RS room and he recognized the picture of Jesus and just had to point it out and say..' Mamma..Jesus!" All I could do was hug and kiss him because I was just so grateful. This isn't the first time he has pointed out a picture of Jesus on the wall but I was just so surprised and shocked that of all the different settings and styles he could still recognize Jesus and I don't recall showing him all of them.

It doesn't matter if that we don't know what he (Jesus Christ) really looks like but how the idea of him makes us feel. If a 16 month old can already sense how special that is ...what more proof do we need? It feels so great to watch Denison grow and learn about the gospel and life. He is just such a wonderful child! I know with the guiding hand of Our Heavenly Father and in our efforts to do what is right concerning our responsibilities to teach him..Denison is headed in the right direction. He already knows how to fold his arms when we tell him its is time to pray and he repeats word for word the prayer.. How sweet is that?
(The picture of Jesus that I'm referring to is the one above)

3. The Relief Society lesson was so uplifting. It was on Gossip. With all the input by the sisters, it was a refreshing wake up call and a interesting perspective on gossip. I learned so much about how destructive it was and how so many little things we do which may seem harmless are forms of gossip... Many times just a simple conversation about yourself that leans into indirect info about others are just a poison. I am very grateful to have been present for this lesson because it makes you more aware and sensitive to information that may come your way directly or indirectly. I made a promise to myself that I would not take part in any form of gossip. When I left the class I felt like a whole new person.

Saturday

Saturday Update
The family we are staying with have to pick up the babysitter at the airport and that was also convenient for us. So we drove together till we got dropped off at the airport rental port.. It was a pretty smooth process but the only gripe we had was standing on the line ..that felt like forever because " Dollar" seemed to be a bit short on staff. Shortly there after the line picked up speed. So after all was said and done we headed out to get into the car... We were so excited. Wohoo! We are driving a gold colored Chrysler Sibring.. It definitely snazzy and built for comfort... So first things first Walter strapped Denny in his child seat and I got out the GPS. It got a little crazy after that because suddenly we realized the cell phone was missing.. So Walter went to check twice at the counter...no luck.. I freaked.....that was our life line...lol
So instead I went inside to check and low and behold after asking the man to check again behind his counter.. there It was... A sigh of relief on my part because the cell phone wasn't ours it belonged to the family we are staying with, who were gracious enough to let us use it...plus the GPS was acting weird and we had to call them (they were waiting on us) to follow them home from the airport. So I called them back and let them know we were heading out...I am the designated driver on this trip and I know that a bummer on my hubby's part because he would love to drive but he didn't get his driver's license renewed in time and I am a bit more familiar with the road here but that was a long time ago when I lived here and somebody was crazy enough to let me drive..lol So It wasn't long into the drive that I had to pull over and let the hubby of our host family drive, they were afraid the highway wasn't safe for me as there was a lot of construction going on and adjusting to the really aggressive drivers... They wanted me to get a feel for the road first... Well I wasn't offended..that was nice of them to be concerned and in actuality I was a bit nervous as this was my first time.
A while after arriving home...we all had to head out to Publix to do some grub shopping.. It was just the three of us this time in the car and we followed behind. When we got to publix Denny got to sit in this car trolley... it was cute.... it had two steering wheels and Denny enjoyed playing driver while he got pushed along the aisles.. I only regret not having a camera on this trip..how unfortunate..we raelly need to get a new one.. Did I say DEAL! DEAL AND MORE DEALS.... and I am not referring to Walter's family..lol! Publix has some freakin' awesome prices....I'm ready to move here man!! Walter and I were famished and this was a bad bad recipe for disaster... We went insane ..picking up all kinds of food...some we may never get to finish....
Lesson: Never shop when you are hungry. Great part was at checkout ..it wasn't so bad.. We got a great value for our money!! 2 Thumbs up for Publix!
By the time we arrived back at the condo there was mania.. 5 hungry adults and 3 rascals who were also ready to eat.. We all crowded the kitchen as we proceeded to put away the grocery... The fridge was brimming over with all sorts of food. Nobody is going to be hungry here! The kids were so helpful ...well as for Denny being the youngest he was basically just trying to climb in the fridge...lol
By the time we were done... about 3o minutes later we were able to eat and relax until bedtime came around.. Not a bad Day!

Family Fun in Florida!

Hello Florida! Oh yeah! It feels so good to see some new scenery. My little family and I have officially taken our first trip together. This is a great opportunity for us to relax, refresh and recharge. The crazy thing is that this trip isn't a planned vacation but more like a much needed getaway. So many things have been going on in the past weeks and I haven't had much time to blog or much to blog about but this trip will give me lots to write about. We flew up about two days ago and I'll tell you we are definitely enjoying ourselves already..Yayyy!!
It is not like we have done anything much yet but just the idea of being somewhere different is a mood booster. This is makes the second trip together for Walter and I and this is the 1st official trip for Denny (the first I came over with him he was in my belly on the way back home he was already born-Florida is where Denny was born) and 2nd official plane ride...Denny loves airplanes and is so fascinated to see them when they would fly over our house. It was to bad he fell asleep shortly after take off.. the poor kid was exhausted..he was up late the night before and we had a early flight. We took Jet Blue and both Walter and I were impressed. They will definitely be getting more business from us.
We are staying with some Family friends ..if that makes any sense.. They are close friends who are like family.. They are so kind and hospitable to have us here. Being around them is is exciting as they are naturally fun-loving people. They have two young kids and Denny is having a blast playing with them so that is also a plus...it is amazing to see how he fits in so well. As of right now he is outside with his Daddy checking out the ducks..I can oly imagine how well that is going!

Tommorrow we pick up our Rental car.Yippi-yi-yo!
I'm so excited because this is going to be my first time renting and hitting the open road with my family...Luckily,we have a my sister's GPS and we are presently mapping out places we would like to go ..I hope it doesn't malfunction because that would not be cool...I've heard some real scary stories about that happening. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Well that is about it for now..Stay tuned for updates!
